For years, I’ve hoarded poetry I love. Now, I send out one of those poems to subscribers every week.
Does what it says on the tin
You’ll receive a very good poem, in may entirely biased opinion, every Friday.
I won’t try to sell you on the idea that regular poetry intake will lead you to a more tender, well-adjusted, intelligent, and euphoric version of yourself. You already know if that is true or not for you.
Read (or don’t), enjoy (or don’t), share (if you want), delete.
How to consume
- When you are ready: open the email.
- Read out loud, to yourself.
- Discard when done.
- Do not save to read “later.” If you can’t give the attention, just move on and try next week. Don’t add it to your mental & digital backlog. Treat poetry like candy, not homework! This is the only important rule.

Sources
These poems have been hoarded for as far back as my digital clutter goes. I’ve collected from many other lists & poetry lovers, and unfortunately I have not done a good job documenting how I first came across each poem. Poetry sources to whom I undoubtedly owe credit include: my 10th grade English teacher, Matt Ogle’s Pome, Sonia Feldman’s newsletter, Poetry Foundation’s Poem of the Day newsletter, Padraig Ó Tuama’s Poetry Unbound podcast and book, Aminatou Sow’s newsletter and Instagram, r/Poetry on Reddit, as well as friends, enemies, and strangers around the world.
